Mena Alexandra Suvari, born February 13, 1979 in the USA is an actress as well as a fashion designer and model. Shortly after beginning her career as a model, she began acting in guest roles on 1990's programs on television like Boy Meets World and High Incident. In 1997 she made her acting debut as a film actress in Nowhere. After her performance on the screen in American Beauty (for which she was awarded a BAFTA Award) and American Pie that attracted greater attention, she began the transition to major parts. After that, she was on screen in Loser (2000) alongside her American Pie co-star Jason Biggs and later played the main character in the comedy Sugar & Spice (2001). Her appearances were in the 2002 independent drama Spun and the 2004 thriller feature Trauma. She appeared in HBO's dramatic series Six Feet Under. In 2004 she was nominated as an Outstanding Cast member at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2008, Suvari was a part in several films including Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the film adaptation to The Garden of Eden. Suvari is a model in Lancome Paris Adaptive, and she has also appeared on several blogs and fashion magazines like Vogue. Suvari has been a supporter and an advocate of the African Medical and Research Foundation for many years.
