Mena Alexandera Suvari, born in 1979 is an American model, actress and fashion designer. Born on 13 February 1979. She began her modeling career in 1990. She soon shifted into acting following guest appearances on television series like Boy Meets World or High Incident. Her first film performance in 1997's drama Nowhere. In American Beauty and American Pie her name was recognized for her performances. She has appeared with American Pie's co-star Jason Biggs in Loser (2000) before starring as the lead character for the film Sugar & Spice (2001). The film also featured her in the 2002 acclaimed independent drama Spun and in the 2004 thriller feature Trauma. Also, she appeared on HBO's drama series Six Feet Under in 2004 she received a nomination as the Outstanding Cast at the 2005 Screen Actors Guild Awards. The show also featured her in the film version of Day of Dead and The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, as well as the movie adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari was featured on fashion blogs as well as in magazines such as Vogue and Lancome Paris Adaptive print ads. She has long been an activist and supporter for the African Medical and Research Foundation. She also is active on women's empowerment issues and collaborates with various organizations to help raise awareness about breast cancer as well as the End Violence Against Women Campaign.
